5 WAYS YOU MAY BE WASHING YOUR HAIR WRONGLY

2016/04/02

Women are crazy about hair. I've seen sooo many forum posts with girls looking for the one product that would make their hair perfect, so many gurus suggesting so many procedures that are not effective. But sometimes the key is the simplicity. Probably all of us would say that it's impossible to wash hair wrongly, but is it completely true? Do all of us wash our hair correctly?

1. YOU WASH YOUR HAIR TOO OFTEN

When you shampoo every day, your hair and scalp are stripped of their natural oils. This causes the the scalp to overproduce oils, making your hair greasier, faster. The only way to break the cycle? Implement a new routine and slowly work your way up to washing every three to four days. Because no one really cares if your hair is greasy. Really.

2. YOU CONDITION INCORRECTLY

The most common error is massaging conditioner into your scalp. Shampoo is only for your scalp and conditioner is meant for just the ends.

3. YOUR SHAMPOO HAS HIGH LEVELS OF ALCOHOL

It’s time to choose a shampoo for more than it’s scent. Like, I don’t know, for the ingredients. Many shampoos contain high levels of alcohol, plastics and other ingredients that cause extreme drying. Although an alcohol-free shampoo won’t foam as much as the ones with alcohol, it will be safer for your hair.

4.  YOU RINSE HAIR WITH HOT WATER

Hot water is as harmful for your hair as blowdrying and straightening. Cold water is best at all times during your shampoo, for both hair and for scalp.

5. YOU SHAMPOO ONLY ONCE

One wash often isn’t enough to break down all the residue and product build-up, especially if you haven’t washed your hair for a few days. When you wash your hair twice, the first round gets rid of the superficial gunk, while the second actually cleans it.

So, are you washing your hair correctly? Stay tuned for more hair related posts :)
